Strategic Marketing Consultancy

Most briefs solve the wrong problem.

Advertising people love to make advertising complicated. New frameworks, proprietary models, buzzwords. It fills decks but it rarely produces anything that works. Here's what actually does: a clearly defined problem and a brilliant idea to solve it. That's it. Finding both — together, at the same time, isn't complicated — it's just hard. ArtsUnkown has been choosing hard for 20 years, creating award winning, business changing campaigns for some of the world's biggest brands and bravest small businesses.

In the modern marketing world, the solution is rarely obvious. The technology changes, the media landscape shifts, the answer is always unknown. The art, the only thing that has ever really worked, is defining your problem in a way that makes a brilliant idea easy to find.

Wrangler On My Booty campaign — Lil Nas X wearing Wrangler jeans

Wrangler

Wrangler On My Booty

We proved to the world that Lil Nas X is "country enough" for one of the most iconic cowboy brands in America — and 26,000 people scanned their Wrangler booties in the first 48 hours.

The gatekeepers of country music didn’t welcome Lil Nas X and his viral country hit song “Old Town Road”, Country Music Billboard even removed him and the song from the charts, saying it wasn’t “country enough.” We disagreed. We controversially partnered Lil Nas X with Wrangler jeans, inviting this perceived outsider into authentic country culture. And then launched.

WranglerOnMyBooty.com, a mobile experience that invited owners of Wrangler jeans to scan their Wrangler booties to unlock exclusive content from the just-released “Old Town Road” music video. Over 26,000 people scanned their booties within the first 48 hours.

Stella Artois Joie de Bière — outdoor advertising

Stella Artois

Joie de Bière

Rooted in its European heritage, we launched Stella's largest global marketing campaign in its history — in 19 countries — to inspire the world to take time and enjoy life.

We launched Stella Artois’ largest global marketing effort in its history that included a new tagline, "Joie de Bière." The French phrase, which translates to "Joy of Beer," puts a bar-friendly twist on the common "joie de vivre" expression that means joy of living. The campaign featured in 19 countries, including the U.S.

Change Up The Usual

We got The Dude and Carrie Bradshaw to change their signature drinks — and dropped a world-colliding Super Bowl spot no one saw coming.

We got two beloved characters, The Dude and Carrie Bradshaw, to change up their signature drinks for Stella Artois.

Thanks to Stella Artois’ partnership with Water.org, every pour of Stella can help give access to clean water to someone in need. A pretty good reason to change up the usual, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jeff Bridges kicked off the campaign through their social accounts, suggesting the return of their past characters. And as the fan frenzy reached its peak, we dropped a world-colliding Super Bowl commercial that no one saw coming - all for a good cause.

JUST Egg Really Good Eggs — billboard wildposting campaign

JUST Egg

Really Good Eggs

Plant-based brands asked people to compromise. We stopped asking them to. The product tastes brilliant — so we let the truth do the work.

Plant-based foods have too often tried to sell a compromise to consumers to get them to change their eating habits. The “it might not taste as good as the food it was replacing, but think of all the good you’re doing for the planet” kinda thing. The truth is, most people don’t care about the planet when they’re shopping for food.

In fact, 87% say taste is the most important factor in trying new products, and 73% would NOT try plant-based products if they didn’t taste as good as the original animal product.

If we were to achieve JUST’s ultimate goal of fixing the global food system, we had to get our product in more mouths and stomachs. Which means we needed to appeal to a bigger audience. Really Good Eggs. The good news is that JUST Egg tastes great, so we could meet consumers where they were — in busy, layered lives…but always up for some tasty eggs.

Netflix x Just Eat Squid Game campaign — JETFLIX takeover

Netflix × Just Eat

Squid Game

A brand partnership that was more hostile takeover than campaign — running through the entire Just Eat experience, from a tense film to a mobile game of Red Light Green Light.

As a brand that delivers just as much joy to the masses as food, we partnered with Just Eat to serve Squid Game to fans hungry for the next game to begin. Our integrated campaign was more of a hostile takeover, running through the entire Just Eat experience. From a deliciously tense film, to a mobile game of Red Light Green Light, we invited fans to play with their food for a chance to win £10k. And we didn’t stop there. A show-inspired limited edition menu served fans a hit of Korean cuisine, available through the Just Eat app or at a pop-up Korean night market at our Squid Game rave in London.

For Small & Medium Businesses

Small Business.
Big Results.
Fair Price.

Small businesses don't have small problems. They have the same strategic challenges as big ones — who are we, who are we talking to, and why should they care. Only when the whole business is on your shoulders, there's less time and less room for error.

As an SME you deserve better than you usually get: overpriced agencies, under-delivering freelancers, and workshopped thinking that never quite turns into anything useful.

Tom has worked with organisations of every size — from the New York Public Library to national training consultancy Accelerator Solutions to children's horsemanship charity Think Like a Pony.

No lengthy retainers. No off-the-shelf strategy documents. Just focused 1–4 week engagements that define the problem clearly and leave you with something you can actually use.

Good thinking shouldn't be a luxury. It just needs to be applied efficiently.

Training & Coaching Courses

Skills that actually
make you better.

Presentation & Storytelling Skills

Most people aren't short of ideas. They're short of the tools to make those ideas land. There's a difference between having something worth saying and being able to say it in a way that makes people listen.

Using 20 years in advertising and 6 years in stand-up comedy, Thomas proves that anyone can become a better presenter — by following a few simple rules and trusting themselves in a few key ways.

Public Speaking

Most adults can talk. Put them in front of a room and something changes — not because they've forgotten how to speak, but because nobody ever taught them how to prepare. Nerves get the blame for what is almost always a structural problem.

Good public speaking isn't about commanding a room. It's about knowing exactly what you're trying to say, in what order, and why anyone should care. Get that right and the delivery mostly takes care of itself.

Creative & Strategic Thinking

You're good at your job. But the bosses don't listen as much as they should — because they see you as a task master, not a strategic thinker. That can change.

The shift from task to strategy is a set of learnable habits: how you frame a problem, generate options, and make decisions without all the information. Fast enough to be useful in the real world, not just a workshop.
